The Ghetto

For some reason, while listening to The Ghetto by Donny Hathaway, I started crying and crying and crying. I dont know what it was, I mean its a beautiful song but not one I particularly relate to. I guess my mental health hasn't been great lately. Unable to sleep, going broke, world events. Bloody hell.
Anyway. Thanks for the great tunes Donny.

I woke up crying thinking of the kids whose dad died of covid a month ago. I had met their dad years ago and he was an awesome guy. I remember being scared when I was a child and my dad was very sick. Feel your feelings. They make you uniquely human. Crying clears your mind as well.
Go ahead and cry, op.

It's been a heartbreaking time. Do you what you need to do to cope as best as you can. Take good care.

It's ok. We all sometimes need a good cry. Let it out.
Mr Hathaway inspired many people you know. He's the one mentioned in one of Amy Winehouse's songs: "There's nothing l can't learn/from Mr Hathaway. She was a contralto. Donny's daughter Lalah Hathaway is also a drop- dead gorgeous, chocolate-toned Contralto and you can tell she is her father's daughter through her Golden pipes! Yes, she has a version of "The Ghetto" as well. I highly recommend it.
You might think I'm obsessed with contraltos and you are right. I happen to be one myself. The contralto singing voice is the rarest, most unique female singing voice on the planet. The pleasure to write a book and to interview other contraltos is all mine!
I hope to be productive and take advantage of this "pause" crafted by the pandemic, get this project done and publish it just after it ends. Wish me luck!
