Is everyone else doing the full day?

As I become more distant and isolated, my work ethnic is slipped. I can happily close my laptop after 7 hours of work now... I just don’t like the job or culture but obviously this is a shitty time to quit. Ugh.... maybe 2 or 3 months of this and then I can escape?

I had intentions of leaving my toxic environment in the spring last year but then the pandemic hit. Now I'm feeling horribly trapped. Grateful for income and a job for sure, but my mental health (being in this job) with no end and escape in sight is declining rapidly. Living alone and in isolation doesn't help...I'm sorry you are going through something similar, it's truly rubbish.

In my line of employ you do your 3 or 4 hours of typing and you're good till tomorrow. Those are the good days; lots of time to ponder. But then you have the 10+ hour days once in awhile...

My internet connection prevented me from even being able to do my job properly. I'd move my mouse so admin knew I was awake* , the zoom meetings were cringeworthy. Pretty soon I was drinking on the job and taking naps. Saved a lot of money on lunch. They ended up during everyone anyone to cut corners.
I would have taken office life if it was safe, just to be able to be productive.
7 should be considered a full day

You must have been working an awful lot before. 8 hours - lunch and breaks is 7 or 7.5. But yeah, I've got the slow down too, others I talk to as well. CBC even put out an article about "languishing" during COVID.
On the other hand...

you can use your time creatively. My buddy and I take "lunch" at the same time and play disc golf.

When I realized my boss wasn't doing the full 7, it kind of relieved the pressure.
