Straight forward

If there’s one thing that turns me off, it’s people who are superficial hypocrites. I cannot relate to these types because I prefer to tell it like it is and be myself. My rule of thumb has always been to never say sorry or hello when you do not mean it. There’s nothing worse than bullshit.

Yea tell it like it is

but remember "To err is human and to forgive is divine" and also know this: when you harbour anger in you, you burn yourself first; so keep the love live.

Do you stop at traffic lights even if you don’t feel like it? Do you make room for someone in the elevator or nah because you got there first?

There’s such a thing as being your authentic self and being rude and it’s not actually a fine or confusing line lol

say hello to people all of the time when I'm out and about.
I think I sort of get what you are trying to communicate, but you may be over thinking things a bit much as in the big picture. You may also be confusing 'straight forward 'tell it like it is' with simple common courtesy and politeness. Perhaps lighten up some. Try not to be so quick to be critical and or judgmental with others as much. My 2 cents.

I agree... with only half of this confession.

there's quite an irony

in declaring yourself as 'straightforward' so righteously but airing your grievances on straight confessions. if you care about someone's genuinity that much, maybe there is something to gain in bringing it up with them directly.

as far as saying 'sorry' or 'hello' goes, i think often we can parse authenticity but at times our doubts shroud our own clarity. if you are quite frustrated with ungenuine smalltalk and acquiantanceships overall, i think you'd do well to focus your energy elsewhere on those who are genuine in your life. but if it's someone who's the reason of your aggravation here, you are being as indirect as it gets.

I bet you're a lot of fun at parties and going out. That is, IF you ever do get invited out- which I somehow doubt.

They feel fearful and resentful toward you, you feel contemptuous toward them, and everyone’s picking up on each other’s vibes.

Been on both sides of this dynamic. Might be time for some fresh air all around if possible.

It's sad how many people are just inherently shitty. Sure there's lots of good folks but so many are just plain shitty. Will not ever change, don't want to, but expect oodles of love and forgiveness and tolerance for their antics. People can behave like spiteful children. It's like when you were young and the class exercise was to tell one person a story with one detail changed and find out who the scummy rat was. It's the same with adults. Still gotta play the game but at least you can cut through the crap quicker. Never disappoints.
