Funny story. Other than having a gross feeling (which you’ll get over soon) you are likely fine. I think of all the third world countries I’ve been to where that kinda stuff wouldn’t phase anyone. Just makes you stronger.

I don't see fear as toxic unless it takes over our lives in an unreasonable way. Fear is often there for a reason, it protects us. In this case, some momentary fear after this incident would be normal and passing.

Last year I went to a shop downtown. Due to covid protocols they were only allowing one customer in the store at a time. We waited our turn social distancing out front. There were two people shopping together ahead of me. When it was their turn, one of the two went inside. They selected a product they were interested in. After a few minutes they came out so the other of the pair could go in to view the product choice. Yep, you guessed it...the person coming out took off the mask and handed it to the person going in to put on...
Judging by their conversations while in line I’m pretty sure they weren’t a couple.
