your feet go here

You know the stickers on the floor near the check-outs at a store? The ones that show a pair of feet indicating "6' social distancing?"in the lineup? I confess that when COVID finally eases off I hope those stickers stay. It took a pandemic for some people to get the drift that personal space is actually a thing. Remember when someone in a huge rush, with no self awareness at all, would just hang on the back of your shoulders breathing down your neck as if that makes the line go any faster or the cashier's fingers fly any quicker on the cash register. I always wanted to say "back the F up please" but thanks to the pandemic, I'll just politely glance at the sticker and then at them, and glance at the sticker and back to them. And smile. So much more civilized.

A woman at Safeway pointed to me where I “should” be standing. I was at least 6feet from her or more. But I wasn’t “on the dot”. A strangers comfort level may not match mine. So I ignored her because it’s like fucking preschool where perceived rules supercede common sense.

Always look on the bright side

You're right- what's a little global terrorism from an archenemy when we have so much to learn about our own foibles? Thanks CCP!

Even if they were three feet apart

This could improve lineup behaviour.

My pet peeve is when the person behind me in line creeps up and starts standing parallel with me.

No sure why you chose an example of someone being "picky" about a dot's exact location rather than see that the person who posted was simply expressing their feeling of relief when people give people space in public - even in a post-COVID world.

... is pretty much peak Western chauvinism. Your sense of personal space is completely cultural I mean it's not even relative to our species like go study some animals and see how they touch each other. One thing I found by talking to even educated people I know is that many of them have a great deal of difficulty admitting that they're animals even if they're not religious they somehow find it demeaning to be merely an animal.

Grow up. You sound like a teenager ffs. The dots are there to simplify it for everyone, and for everyone’s safety. It’s not all about you.

Passive agression = civilized. Sure. “politely glance” is a good one, too. How about you use your words instead of expecting everyone else to read into your “polite” glances and facial expressions.

Don’t tell me where to stand. If I’m 6+ feet from you, you’ve got plenty of space. If you’re that afraid of people in public, shop online and get your groceries delivered. The dot is a suggestion not a law. I don’t have to stand on the dot if I’m already 6+ feet from you, and I’m not going to listen to a stranger tell me where to stand in order for them to feel comfortable.
