Don’t talk to me

I was about to get on the escalator at Metrotown station when some dude holding a bible tried to block me. This guy waves his bible in my face and says “How’s it going?” I tell him not to talk to me, then he says “ok, I won’t.” I am not interested in anyone that tries to push and shove their personal beliefs down my throat. Whether you believe in God, mother nature or the devil is nobody’s business but your own. Keep that to yourself.

In a democracy, silence trumps freedom of speech.

In these cases, an abrupt response is often the only thing that works. I'm usually pretty kind to people, but not when it's religious soliciting. They are aggressive to begin with, and cross people's boundaries routinely with their lunacy. "Kindly leave my property, don't return and don't leave this offensive material here. Have a good afternoon." Period.

Completely disagree with you. Anyone who believes they have the right to approach total strangers to try to convince them to believe in their personal religion does not deserve my politeness or kindness. They are deliberately invading MY personal space while also trying to impose their own beliefs on someone else. Afaic they can go f themselves.

She dealt with it, using her freedom of association.

No one has the right to block your way so that they can talk to you about their religion. Freedom of speech does not cover this. That’s the really offensive part.
