Masks Optional

With masks now optional indoors, I judge those who choose to opt-out of wearing them and steer clear. Sorry, BC government, but I do not agree with you about lifting mask rules. I will be wearing my mask for a long time coming. I work with children, and yes, children CAN transmit.

You ever...

... wonder why it was a Solicitor General Order to wear masks, not a Provincial Health Order? You ever wonder?

Mixed feelings

I am not sure how I feel about it. I think it really depends on circumstances, and also, location. If we had access to the stats about which areas have the lowest vaccination rates for example, we could better judge the odds. We know that certain areas had the highest rates of infection, but our government has decided that it’s discriminatory to let us know which areas have the highest rates of vaccinations. I understand their reasoning, but in a situation like this, I believe that we have a right to know when it’s our health that’s at stake. I also have a very hard time breathing with a mask on, so I only wear it when I have to, but I’m still wearing it inside businesses, although it’s torture for me. If people would just get fully vaccinated it would solve the problem! Ignorance is, unfortunately, still rampant.

Now let's see... Government versus the Georgia Straight confessions for medical advice... Which one is best?

people who have no intention of ever being vaccinated against COVID-19 and ditched their masks. If directly asked if they've been vaccinated, they plan on lying. For that reason alone, I will continue to wear a mask long after it's no longer mandatory & socially distance long after it's no longer mandatory. There are far too many narrow minded, self involved people out there who only care about their own health & welfare and don't give a rat's whatzit about anyone else's.

But if they cared about their own health and welfare wouldn't they be getting vaccinated, wearing masks, and social distancing long after it's no longer mandatory just like you?

Risky propositio
As the other commenter pointed out, it's going to be the same people who refused to get vaccinated that will be taking them off.
Op is right about kids. No thanks.

If they adhered to logic, or heck, just plain common sense, they *would* wear masks & socially distance for the sake of their health. But they all seem to believe contracting COVID-19 will never happen to them. That the only people who contract COVID are essential workers, apartment dwellers & partyers. Ignorance is bliss apparently.

I think most agree with you. Regardless of restrictions being lifted, people are still wearing masks indoors. Government dropped the ball on mask requirements from the start of the pandemic so it's understandable people are choosing to do what feels right for them - and clearly it's continuing to wear masks.

I am fully vaxxed, and had Covid already...so when I walk into a store I am like "do I wear a mask and look like someone who is not vaxxed, or do I take off my mask and look like an anti-masker?!" For the most part I still leave it on indoors, due to the delta variant. I do not want to get covid again!
