I run because I try to escape the crushing loneliness. It isn't working.

We are all either running towards something or running away from it and it’s always a journey, even when it’s hard. Join a race and people you don’t know cheer you on from the sidelines and when you finish, they give you a medal. Seriously, when does that happen anywhere else in life?

When I'm out and about. Dollops of dharma.
A little trick- look to the treetops when you're moving. It lifts the emphasis off the ground and allows you to see a wee bit of the sublime

Whatever your reason for running is, it’s okay. Running is in itself reason enough. In my younger years I ran because I could! It wasn’t hard, but challenging. It was my “me” time away from all of my other life stressors. It was my meditation. I focused entirely on my breathing and my pace, and nothing else. I would run almost every day. If you look at it like that, without placing expectations on the activity to reduce your loneliness, it will do what it’s supposed to for you.

There must be one out there... or start one. You aren't the only one to feel this way. Maybe starting a group will help others and you.
