Touch

Our bed is just for sleeping, each on their own side. There is no touching and no intimacy, so no love either. There is family and we couldn’t afford two homes but I often think about the feel of another’s skin touching mine.

Living with your choices

That's what happens when you engineer your life from a checklist to seek the approval of others who live their own lives without caring what you think or want. Meanwhile, you could have had who you really wanted but here you are.

that

What you describe isn’t uncommon. Often we have to make certain sacrifices in order to get by. Anyone who’s sitting in judgment (@Living with your choices I’m talking to you) right now can just go take a very long look at their own life before they dare to judge someone else’s. That feeling is lonelier than being alone sometimes. I’ve been there more than once. Hopefully, once you’re in a safe enough situation ( financially, emotionally, physically, WHY), you’ll be better able to find a situation that doesn’t hurt so much. Big feels for you.

I did. That's how I can speak with certainty.
When you put your soul above creature comforts, you deserve these outcomes and I respect myself too much to choose saving on a few bills over being able to look at myself in the mirror.

Good for you. But you’re still judging another person’s decision based on what you did for yourself. You have no right to do that. You also have no idea what another person might be dealing with in their life that leads them to make such a decision. Does it occur to you that other people aren’t you? I like the phrase “you do you”, because it means that each of us lives our own journey. Just because someone is presently living in a difficult situation, doesn’t mean that because they’ve chosen to live with it that they don’t deserve compassion. Your attitude is very “holier than thou”, and you seem quite arrogant.

I don't know how anyone can share the same bed all night with another person. I mean, how do you ever sleep?
