Hare Krishnaposted August 24th, 2021 at 11:55 PM Sometimes I wish I was George Harrison. He had all answers, so full of wisdom. I was in high school when I found out he died. There goes the sun. Show 11 Comments 11 Comments Post a Comment AnonymousAug 25, 2021 at 2:16amGeorge Harrison spent the last decade of his life hiding behind ten foot walls that surrounded his Friar Park (Henley UK) mansion. He had a team of all female ex UK forces security guards guarding over his home 24/7. He virtually never left the place out of fear.Is that how you want to live? Hiding behind the walls of a palace? @AnonymousAug 25, 2021 at 3:16amYou obviously hate the Beatles. @AnonymousAug 25, 2021 at 3:21amI didn't know that. Any speculation why he hid? I know he died of throat cancer because of his cigarette addiction. The fact that he had a lifelong addiction says something. And don’t forgetAug 25, 2021 at 7:56amWhile hiding in said mansion doing copious amounts of drug. Not judging, but he didn’t have all the answers. He was just like everybody else. I...Aug 25, 2021 at 11:57am... always liked Jerry Garcia you know he just didn't give a shit. A diabetic who eats sugar. As for wisdom not that I said entertainers are especially wise but I think I like Garcia's major attitude about things which was if you wanted to end War then give peace a chance isn't enough because that suggests war is a possibility. So you have to really get outside the dualism that were inculcated with of Good and Evil sin and guilt etc etc. HeroesAug 25, 2021 at 12:42pmIt pays to research your heroes before you call them that. I went to a Granville Island Book Festival to see an author whose very popular novel and subsequent movie I found deeply inspiring. I expected to meet a creative sage. Instead, I spent two hours listening to a petty, mean-spirited elitist sneer at everyone who came to appreciate his art. Nasty little man, and I do not care how good his other books are. He shall not receive a single penny more from me. @anonymousAug 25, 2021 at 3:12pmTalk about a stretch! He lived in isolation because he was constantly mobbed when he went anywhere. After what happened to Joh Lennon can you really blame the guy? Op didn’t suggest that he wanted George Harrison’s *actual* life. He just wants the wisdom that Harrison seemed to have, based on the lyrics in some of his songs. AnonymousAug 26, 2021 at 8:58amYou have to love how Beatle fans will twist anything to suit their fawning narrative of their "heroes". I have been a George Harrison fanAug 26, 2021 at 10:18amsince I was in elementary school. Lately listening to some of his lyrical wisdom it occurs to me that he was just repeating what his gurus told him. The music is still wonderful. AnonymousAug 26, 2021 at 5:09pmThe Beatles were a boy band before jumping on the hippy bandwagon. A bit like how Madonna or other pop stars “reinvent themselves” to stay relevant and keep the money rolling in. LOAD MORE Join the Discussion Your name Comment * your name What's your name?
