Looking forward to fall
posted August 30th, 2021 at 7:19 AM
I have always been sad during the dog days of August. Everything closes, everyone goes on vacation and that is when I am loneliest. A few years ago I found school. Septembers became my favourite month. The month the world rebirths. This year, school is fractured and even with courses going forward, most schools are still more concerned with social political issues than student services. That's life. Life isn't always easy. My resolution this year is to enjoy September and October like I never have before. As it gets colder and darker I am going to be well prepared. With hot chocolate every morning, slippers, blankets, rain gear, etc. With the cold comes a knocking, I am going to face it head on. There are worse things in life as I have found and this fall I am looking forward to more than any in recent memory.

I'm a person who has always loathed the onslaught of summer:heat, crowds, noise, sooo much sun.I also suffer from reverse sad where depression surges during the summer( and yes, this is a real thing)I welcome wholeheartedly the coming of fall and winter:sweaters, whisky, stews, walks at night in the rain.I used to complain soooooo much about the rain but I realized how much of my energy was being wasted on complaining about something I can't control or change.I let go of my bitching and embraced the beauty of fall and winter. While my friends are feeling depressed already about the approaching fall/ winter,Iam secretly joyous. And with so much going on in the world,I am trying to be grateful for what I have and that includes appreciating that I am still alive to enjoy another season.
Much thanks

Fall is wonderful. For me it’s also a time where I feel more comfortable physically. I burn in the sun and I hate feeling hot and sweaty all the time! Bring on the crisp days, the boots and jeans, and the gorgeous colours. After the blistering heat of the past months, it’s time!

I also love the fall! I've never done well with the heat of summer, and intensity of the sun. Sure, the cherry blossoms in spring are nice, but I much prefer the colours of the changing leaves in the fall. That golden light of the late afternoon sun. The feeling of the cool air as the temperature drops. For me, it is the most visceral of the seasons. I look forward to it every year!
One great thing about living here is that the fall seems to last longer than in other parts of the country.
Cool is ok
