Obviously someone is bitter. What you perceive is selfish behavior may be self preservation or may be that you are selfish demanding too much from the other person. Give them a break and let them post what they want without judgement.
Self Preservation 101

If you care about your self preservation then it would be better that you don't steal more than what your life is worth to the people that you steal from. If what they demand in return is worth less than your life to you it would be better for you to pay whatever it is they demand from you before they come to collect when the time is opportune for them. Not everyone forgives, not everyone forgets. Those too proud or cowardly to apologize and ask certainly deserve forgiveness the least.

make no sense but that's par for course on confessions. the detailed plots people have envisioned from nothing are quite impressive, some of you might do well to write harlequin novels.
as for the op, i think we've all been there. the irony of posting much of yourself on social media is that it's perceived as inherently narcissistic but it's bred entirely from insecurity and, as you said, a need for validation. posting much of yourself isn't inherently wrong but sometimes it might breed unhealthy behaviour for the poster, i.e. prioritizing social media over present company, well being reliant on social media performance, being consumed by social media to the detriment of the person's interests. best to maintain a healthy distance but there's no shame in seeking affirmation from time to time, we are all human and need it.
balance is key and everyone's balance is different. hard to garner whether you're truly selfish or not by the single line you've written.

I guess the term is cringe. Cut and pasted memes about awful exes that Are supposed to sound "empowering " ?! Backed by drunken selfies where people refer to themselves as hot. Its ridiculous. Like watching a bad actor or actress lol

Social media is a plague on humanity, almost as destructive as COVID-19. Instead of deriving pleasure from your experiences and the people around you, you seek it—along with validation—from your phone — and it's not going away! The people who peddle it are no different from meth dealers, and like meth, you have to kick it like a junky. Delete the apps, take back your lives!

I totally agree... cringe-a-licious. It is like watching Val Kilmer in "The Thaw".
Yikes!

You should do yourself a favor. Lay low for a while. May be close your social media accounts and see how you do without them. It’ll bring you a peace of mind as long as you occupy your time with other things to do like reading, going for a bike ride, eating a favourite meal or running on a treadmill. Hope you find peace. Best of luck to you.
