Unexpected guests

I hate short notice visits, even if it’s family.

that you'll actually come visit, reunify and rescue me from this farcical decades-long real-life torture chamber now?

Or is this another of the sixteen thousand carrots on sticks used to keep me here for experiential eternity in a violently suppressed, tortured state?

there's an x on top. top right corner of your screen. click it. freedom is at your hands and it's your hands that steer your decisions... quit stringing yourself your own carrots.

I don't answer the buzzer

Aug 2, 2021 at 10:19pm

I never answer the buzzer unless I'm expecting a guest or parcel delivery. If my MIL says she'll stop by "tomorrow", I always ask what time. If she shows up an hour early as she's known to do, I don't answer. Then she'll phone. I don't answer. At five minutes before the actual arranged time, then I'll answer. My husband does the same. Boundaries are important.

Yeah boundary is like a factual term so sure boundaries are important but you know the more I hear about how people behave as individuals the more I think that there's something fundamentally dysfunctional about our society I mean I can't imagine that either of you are good enough people to have any sort of universal care ethic because it's all about you and your boundaries so you know we all who have a universal care ethic we support all of you and we've built institutions that you just take advantage of and then set a line so that you have to put in the least effort possible jeez.

This appears to have been taken out of context by some people. Just because I don’t enjoy unexpected drop ins to my home, doesn’t mean I’m not a loving and caring person towards my friends and family. I see that some of you love to assume things about someone you don’t even know, creating a wild story in your head of what kind of people the confessors must be on this page.

You have no idea the context of why that person doesn't answer the buzzer. Don't let people walk over you. Should I answer the door when I'm naked after a shower and just let people on up? How about while I have a migraine? Should I force myself to socialize until I black out? Give me a break and learn some self care there, buddy.
