Addicted to…porn?

For the last bunch of years our marriage has become relatively sexless. I’ve compensated by becoming addicted to porn. Not real porn, but posting photos of myself naked. Real nudes but not usually sexual. They’re actually quite popular. Go figure! I’m closer to 60 than 50, never work out, nothing special down there, but I do have an eye for the scene. It’s really nice to feel desired and appreciated. My wife would be appalled if she knew but I suspect she’d also be jealous and possessive if she read the responses.

if it "feels good" it must be right thing to do. This guy Savage Love does more harm than good is what people will conclude years from now.

The one consistent in GS confessions is the weird porn views. it's always from a self hating self righteous passive aggressive nature. ALWAYS! To me, they read like confessions of people who are in the porn closet.

...just nudes for randos. If you're not willing to put in the work, maybe it's time to drop the facade and separate.

Jesus, puritanical North Americans. Everyone involved are consenting adults, FFS. Your wife might find it sexy, she's probably as bored as you are with life. Middle-aged in a dull city like Vancouver, with a people obsessed with stability and health, trying to live the longest, most boring lives on earth? Maybe your wife wants to make porn with you?

That your marriage has become sexless? There's two people in a marriage, what steps have you taken to address the issue? It's unfair to your partner to just throw your hands up and say "now i'm addicted to porn," especially since they may be feeling similarly starved for affection.

If you can’t be bothered to put the effort into your actual relationship, then it’s likely going to end. If that’s okay with you then carry on. Otherwise you might want to put some energy into reconnecting with the person you married and made a commitment to. You’ll likely be surprised to find out that she’s not too happy with the situation either. I’ve lost count of the number of couples I know that wound up splitting when the wife got fed up and left. In almost every one of those situations the husband was taken by surprise. Mostly because they just assumed that things would carry on as they were with no effort required.
