Anxiety
posted September 23rd, 2021 at 3:48 PM
I live with anxiety that is due to childhood emotional abuse. Have suffered this since I was a child, and it has limited my ability to experience a full life. I feel trapped in a mental prison that is anxiety.

Chronic anxiety is a terrible self-reinforcing beast. I hope you find more and more periods of solace. Nobody feels 100% all of the time so don’t beat yourself up when things feel oppressive. You deserve to feel whole and be present.
EMDR therapy helped me to integrate a couple of my childhood traumas, your mileage might vary.
Sharing helps

Have you heard of ASCA? Joining a support group helped me in ways I can't even understand. Sharing your story relieves you of the burden of carrying the pain. It's hard at first, but you'll find a community of likeminded folks. Best wishes, you're not alone.

I suggest that you explore the meaning of the term “self fulfilling prophecy “.

You’ve got a lot of company. Including me. But now that you know, you’ve got the power to do something about it. You don’t have to remain in a victim mentality. There is a world of information available to help people like us deal with the results of childhood trauma.

Things can get better

Getting over anxiety is incredibly difficult because it takes a fundamental shift in your solidified beliefs (usually about yourself and other people). It also takes a behavioral change, which our brain resists because anything unfamiliar feels unsafe.
Please be patient with yourself, but also know that things can get better, nobody is “too damaged” to get to a good place in recovery. I hope you find the right resources to help you along your journey.

always perpetuate their own trauma induced anxieties and the anxieties of those in the community to whom they perpetuate toxicity ... Unfortunately due to the shadow undercurrents this post will also likely get down votes but Hey'A ... there's always hope :-)

It’s okay, you are not alone. Speaking from experience, I’ve often been prone to panic attacks if so many negative things are happening to me at the same time in my life at once. Take deep breaths and come to terms with your anxiety. Write down what it was that triggered you to feel this way. Maybe record it on your voice memo. Get it off your chest so that you won’t have to think about it again.
