Done

I am done with Craigslist every ad I respond to is a scam. Apartments and jobs (anything on that site really) as a matter in fact I don't even need my phone anymore. If something is not useful why bother using it, I say. So done with Craigslist !

But, where else online are you going to find a closet to rent & live in for $2200 per month in Vancouver?

ah, the internet

Just like everything else about the internet, it starts off good, with the best intentions, and eventually just turns into shit.

I too, am very wary of craigslist these days. I hear facebook marketplace is the new big thing, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna open a facebook account just for that!

When Craig Newmark started it back in the 90s, he wanted to create a friendly, open forum free for anyone to post without interference from things like standards and regulations. He's a nice guy with the best of intentions, but unfortunately that's what you end up with without standards and regulations.

Maybe you're the one causing problems?

The reason so many people do that is because they’ve been burned by “stupid buyer people” who say they’re going to come and then don’t. My personal favourites are the ones who agree to a specific price before coming and then try to talk you down when they get there. I usually just say no, and if they want to waste a trip then it’s up to them. But the housing scammers are the scum of the earth. Just remember that if it seems too good to be true it’s because it is.
