Fully vaccinated and able to prove it, but

I don't even do any of this non-essential stuff that unvaccinated people won't be able to do as of September 13.

I don't have a smart phone. don't want one. I don't like apps or technology. I have a vaccine card though, but that is apparently not enough. haven't been to a concert since pre pandemic. there are non coming, no sports around here. no nothing. the subsidy the restaurants want are to fill security hiring vacancies that for workers that don't exist during an employment crunch

Yeah, so?

I’m not sure what your point is? I don’t do much of it either, but I’m in favour of the passport because it already had a positive effect on vaccination rates. The people who do want to be able to do those things will either have to get it or stay away, which will make the rest of us safer. It’s just really, really pathetic and sad that it’s taken this to make them decide. Unbelievably pathetic.

Fully and unable. n tears

The old couple next to me are jabbed up but have no idea how a cellphone or apps work. They still have a rotary.

They are in tears because they too cannot go out soon.

Why do so many people think a cell phone is required? It's not!

"A secure paper option will also be available for September 13. "

That's from the official BC govt proof of vaccination page.

I'm not sure dot-dot.

... who decided that Jim's or restaurants were not essential. That's not a legislated definition. There were many International instruments that say we're entitled to cultural participation and inclusion in society. I don't do any of those things either really but it's very concerning to me that the basic compromise post World War II which is that no one faction gets to dominate minorities has now basically evaporated within two years. Less than two years actually.

I would not worry about these restrictions. We are still in a pandemic and we are going into fall. You still can't do anything out there safely...Just wait to see what happens. I mean, concerts haven't really kicked off yet so you shouldn't need to see anyone soon. If you actually need to sit in a bar or restaurant then you'll have to do what you have to do. I will continue to make food at home and order out occasionally. Life ain't back to normal yet, guys. Just wait to see what happens before judging anything.....

I also shun the idea of having to put yet another app with easy access to my personal information on a device which can be easily lost or hacked into by someone with malicious intent. That's why I'm going to get the "secure paper" version of my vaccine status. At least that's an option still, in this day and age!

However, like the OP said, I too don't really need it. Not yet, anyway... I will not be surprised if we will need to show proof in the near future to buy groceries or do everyday essential things outside of the home. That doesn't really bother me either. Like most of us, I realize we are in a situation that requires everyone to act in order for us all to move forward, and in reality there is no major disruption in our personal lives in doing so, contrary to what the anti-vax crowd wants you to believe.

@Opposite, you can still get your pass

You can register via computer and print out the QR code, or you can make an appointment at a Service Canada office to help you.

There's no need to have the app even if you're using a smartphone; just register and screenshot the QR code. It's the vendors who have to run the app to do the scanning.
