Going in circles

One of my favourite changes in technological times was when tv Chanels stopped "going off air" the sound of the buzzzzzz, or the weird off air that would wake me up always bothered me. For years it went away with 24 hour channels and recently they went back. And before the "I cut my cable or don't watch tv" peeps chime in, tell it to your bazillion streaming channels you have and glued to you phones 24-7.

What’s wrong with cutting your cable? Cut it. You can buy an antenna (the cost of one month’s cable) and get 10-12 good channels and 4-6 weird ones. The device used to be these huge awkward things… now it’s a device the size of an iPad. Some suck… so do a little research.

When I was a kid I would wake up at 4 AM and watch those TV colour bars and test screens before PBS began it’s regular broadcasts. Good times.

But I don't have a "bazillion streaming channels". That was cable. I used to need a map to see what was offered in what package and there were, yes, a bazillion useless channels. Now I have 2 main options, Prime and Netflix. I pick what I want to watch, when I want, and don't end up surfing with a remote all night, and I'm not limited to one episode at a time, waiting a week or more for the next one.
