The Hundred Club

When I was in kindergarten we learned to count to a hundred. It took a bit of time and effort but we were encouraged along the way to believe success would be rewarded with exclusive membership. I was sooo disappointed upon graduation to discover no wood paneled lounge with leather armchairs and smoking jackets no balloons or confetti. One of life's first major disappointments. What was that all about?

You learned how to count to 100- but you never learnt that you need to progress beyond that by working harder and smarter.
It gets tiring to hear the worn out cliche of others accusing me of being "privileged"- when I was one who's worked crazy hours, taken crazy risks and made it.
I've found all those who use the term to denigrate others, have never put in the effort, never tried, or gave up- and use it to justify their own failings.
Want to know the reason for failure or success? Go look in the mirror and accept responsibility.

I wonder if those Billionaire Boys Club hoodies will still be worn in the future? Another loan, gentlemen?

If the moon is full and you count to 100 forward, backward, and in French, a portal to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory will open to serve all your 5-year-old heart’s desires.

Why not just claim your privilege rather than resisting it? A lot of immigrants, for example, have taken crazy risks, worked long hours, and are still stuck in a cycle of poverty.

What’s wrong with you, me, or anyone else looking in the mirror and realizing that what we’ve been granted from birth has had a huge impact on opening the doors to where we are today?

I used to believe in the Dominion of Canada as a child. As time progressed I soon learned how incompetent, overstretched intelligence wise and sickeningly smug the whole thing was.

And it made me puke.

Nonsense
-grew up dirt poor, parents couldn't afford to help in college.
-have an invisible disability
-have a learning disability

Explain to me how privileged I am.
