Nowadays there are the forces of 'cultural entropy' dividing and conquering us. Suggest you net-search the word entropy ... a word from the science of physics depicting energy and matter flying apart. It can be applied to culture also and its not a happy phenomena. We spent a lot of time with others, time in nature, at the outdoor skating rink, at the Fri night dance and the greasy diner on Sat afternoon. We cooked, read books and poetry and sang in a choir. It was easier to make friends, find a partner and have a sense of community. I'm really glad I grew up then.
