Seasonal decorations

I was at the dollar store the other day looking for Halloween decorations. They have tons of stuff for $1 to like $4. But... I wonder how many people just toss that stuff in the trash on November 1 and go shopping for Christmas decorations. I’ve heard lots of people don’t bother donating to thrift stores or having garage sales when they want to declutter. Also I wonder how much of the dollar store’s general merchandise gets thrown out within a year of being purchased by customers.

On Google, the the Halloween industry in the US,less candy, is about 3% that of the packaging industry's annual sales value.
Much of it does get kept, especially Christmas stuff.

If people want to know of 2 ways to declutter

without having to take stuff somewhere:

(1) Call or go online to either Big Brothers or Diabetes. They will collect reusable stuff that can fit in cardboard boxes or garbage bags.

(2) Call your city's Pickup line about coming to pick up large items such as beds, couches, etc. But you will need to have plastic to put over the items to keep them out of the rain.

There's also the 3rd option of getting rid of stuff through Craigslist or Kijiji or others. If you list them in the Free section you will have a better chance of unloading stuff.

This is why it's all about making your own holiday decorations! Way more fun
