Pandemic change

Life in pre pandemic times was so much better. I hate how much this has affected my mental health. I use to be so active and free. Now I feel like a completely different person; Like I lost myself. As if I am shrinking, smaller, and smaller. I use to reach out to other and reply to messages quickly, but now I don't know what to say. Everyone is dealing with their own problems / issues and I don't want to burden them with mine. I want the entire world to be safe but at the same time decide what we decide we shouldn't be criticized for it. I wish everyone to be well and safe.

When we begin to have difficulty relating to people this often signals that energy is gravitating within, headed to fuel the secret and sacred work of building a healthier relationship with the self.

I bet if you look closely at your inner GPS you'll find you are right where you need to be. Fair travels, fellow sojourner.

Hi there!

I can totally sense your vibe and want you to know that you are not alone. I have felt this way many times through this crazy COVID-19 world we’re living in. It’s a new reality that we’ve all had to adjust to, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t stay active in some shape or form. We just have to keep on doing what makes us happy and trying our best to go about our lives. If you want to reach out to others and say hello and ask how they’re doing, that’s great. Maybe there’s something for you guys to talk about and sometimes we may all need that once in a while. I think it’s good to communicate. Take it from me. COVID-19 has given me time to reflect on certain things in my life and it’s really making us become more introspective and coming to terms with ourselves. So don’t give up and just keep on being active. It may take time but you will get back to your old vibes and harness your way through a new groove. Good luck, my friend. You may not think you can do it but I think you can.

The Payoff

I was bullied a lot as a child. Not in the diluted, sensationalized way we use the word "bullied" today (you know, where everything is a micro-aggression), but in the really shitty, constantly terrified of physical violence for years at school way. As a result, I discovered the joys provided by reading, science, history, walks in the woods...

Now I am grateful for the survival skills I developed as a child. I like myself. I know how to nurture my own soul without harming others. I am breezing through COVID.

It is never too late to develop these skills. Start by finding joy in new ideas or the falling leaves. Sit with it for awhile. I hope you find peace of mind.

Pandemic change; let me count the ways

Nov 7, 2021 at 9:13pm

Totally understand what you’re going through, OP. The pandemic has uprooted everything we knew. If I may share, these are the ways my previous life has slipped: lost my job, lost friends over their anti-vax stances, my family's mental health deteriorated, leading to massive fights where we are no longer speaking to each other. My world is small, smaller, smallest. I carry on by challenging myself, either by creating or achieving personal bests in run times. I hope you can still reach out to your friends even if there’s no much to say. Sometimes hearing “Thinking of you” or “long time no chat” means the world. Your life will expand and grow again. This is all just temporary. Do one thing new every day; it will make the days brighter and interesting and hopeful again.

It's a bad time to have issues....

Dare I say I'm not doing well or having issues, as most people around me are going through their own sorta problems & don't really have the capacity to help.
