Ballet

My mother signed me up for ballet in the early 90's. I was an 8-9 year old boy at the time, and we had just moved to Hicksville USA. I don't think I learned much in ballet class, but as soon as the other kids in the public school found out, I learned a lot about perceptions of gendered activities, fighting and bullying. Thanks mom!

The best Moms take their children to Kids karate.

The mites don't really learn much, but it really helps when the local bully tried it on.

Your life sounds like a social experiment, gone wrong.

Children can be so cruel and adults even worse.
Guess where children learn their values ?
At home with mom and dear old dad.
Remember that when you are speaking around your kids because children hear everything.
Everything !
We are all human if you cut us do we not all bleed the same.
We are all the same.
Human !

I bet the ladies love dancing with you now. You learned grace and rhythm, both of which go a long way off the dance floor, too. Glad you survived the bullies.

Post WW2

I was a mixed-race boy living in a little cowboy town in the interior. When I started elementary school w was small in stature and the bully boyZ viciously targeted me. My dad saw a strange thing in the community centre. It was a Japanese man who had been captured on the BC coast and sent to the WW2 internment (slave labour) camps in the interior and this Japanese man chose to stay in the town because all his belongings and fish boat had been seized by the gov't. When my dad saw him he was teaching something called Karate and Judo. My dad knew the bullies were targeting me and he asked me if I'd be interested in trying it. Well, I'm no super athlete but I took to the martial arts and it didn't take long to give the bullies a BIG surprise. I'll admit though I started to enjoy bullying the bullies and it took me some years and some hard life lessons to mature and learn that's not right either .............. Otherwise all the best in 2022 or whatever year this really is. The Coptic calendar of E. Africa says this will be the year 2015 and Hebrew calendar says this will be 5783 and many Indigenous peoples say they don't got a lineal counting years short view but their timeline is from infinite to infinite. Walk Good Sisters and Brothers.

Life can be tough

I feel for you. But I hope that you understand that your Mom was trying to do a good thing. She might have got it wrong, but at least she tried. As for bullies, well you’ll find them everywhere. Not just in school but absolutely everywhere. I’m a woman and I was bullied constantly throughout my entire school life, for various reasons. It was hell. But I survived and so did you. Hopefully you learned that it’s better to be bullied than to bully someone else. Not that being bullied is ever a good thing, but I would never want to exchange positions with the bullies because they’re really, really sad individuals at heart.

Ah yes bullying, I know it well. Shame about their soul death. Have you tried holding up a mirror, not that they have a reflection but you know what I mean.
