Every Year

As much as I love the holiday season, I really hate some things that come with it. People just act so fucking crazy out in public. For example, especially around this time of year, when I'm at the store getting my regular groceries I just want to go in, buy what I need, and head home. Stores are understandably crowded, and yet some folks tend not to be paying any attention to their surroundings or where they are going. That results in getting cut off or run into multiple times (like 5 - 6 times) and these people don't even have the good grace to acknowledge it. And then there's the aggressiveness to get at things. I mean these are adults fighting over items on a shelf! I just shake my head and walk away. I feel like they need a good whack with a broom to wake them up. Every year it's just one giant cluster fuck I want to avoid.

Christmastime

Dec 5, 2021 at 7:18pm

I hate going out in society during Xmas. I rode my bike with a group of ppl on Xmas Eve once, and we were screamed at. (We don’t get screamed at in any other time if the year) The stress is palpable. Also, one Christmastime I was at an ATM, and while I was fumbling looking for my card, a dude charged right up to me and *demanded* that he use the ATM before me. I was so taken aback by his pushiness and nerve. So overall I don’t really like Christmas much anymore, I hate the commercialism, I hate crowds, and I hate how people feel so desperate and stressed to the max about the whole season.

You've hit the nail on the head. Over the years I've learned to get the gifts, food etc.for the few family and friends that matter well in advance and avoid said vexations.

Tell me something I don’t know.

There’s no nice way of putting it but people are just getting dumber by the day. So little common sense coupled with a complete lack of awareness of their surroundings result in cluster fucks becoming a common occurrence. I see older people totally oblivious to where and what they’re doing as well as younger people who are totally clueless and transfixed by their smart phones. Makes me want to build a log cabin in the woods and never see another idiotic humanoid in my lifetime.
