The best gift I ever gave myself was permission to say no to 'celebrations' with my family. I feel so much better staying home even if I'm all alone. Cheers to you!

we've been brainwashed by ads, movies to believe that xmas is supposed to be perfect. there is no such thing. some xmas' are somewhat perfect but most aren't. any gathering of people that includes built up stress, overspending, resulting anxiety, unrealistic expectations, drinking, discussions on subjects best to avoid such as politics and religion are a guaranteed recipe for disaster. the end result is an occurrence that is to the detriment of all. celebrate a singular event consisting of me, myself and I (you), a turkey tv dinner (no clean up) and television playing back bullshit hallmark dreams. when we wish everyone peace on earth it starts with peace in our own heads...so peace to you and may you celebrate a holiday that suits you best.
