I’ll believe that when I see it. People always complain to me about how social media brings out the worst in them so they end up permanently deleting their accounts. Then eight months later they tell me they’re back to square one all over again just for the sake of not “losing touch.” Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

I'd like to see all the devices tossed in the garbage can and return to speaking one on on around the village fireplace ... I say hahaha as I enter these words via my device onto this beloved vestige of the venerable Georgia Straight Newspaper from the days before the anti-social mudias. I'd love to delete FB too, but I'm worried it will wreck my access to other sites and services that FB has wisely used its tentacles to entangle you with. They know it's much harder to leave FB when it is linked to Spotify and Instagram for example. I worry I will delete my account and then I'll try to load up some website I hadn't thought of and I'll be screwed.

Also, we need to regulate the shit out of big tech. Amazon, Twitter, Google, FB etc... let's regulate the shit out of these companies. It's the wild west out there, that status quo can't possibly continue without irreparable long term damage to our economy and society.
