I just wrote a few poems about Milton Acorn

I have a confession to make. I just read the autobiography of the poet Milton Acorn and ended up writing a few little poems about him. As you fine readers may already know, Milton Acorn was one of the original founders of the Georgia Straight newspaper. Sadly, this fine newspaper does not publish poetry anymore. Milton Acorn was one odd duck.

Yeah well I guess getting blown up by a depth charge in WW2 isn't the best thing for your brain.

Was his best poem. Incisive, free from entanglement, with a fresh hope for a new start. Clean, spare, smooth as silk. Leaves a polished panache on an old bag of tricks

Milton Acorn will stand the test of time. He was extremely unusual. A very unique character.
The National Film Board of Canada has a good documentary about him.
Many of his poems were lost! I hope they will be found someday.

I've been trying to remember his name, I read a biography of him years ago, it was so wild it was hard to believe he was a real person. He was from Quebec and drove formula 1 races in the 1960's before he started writing novels that were extremely transgressive. At one point he was working as a publishing executive and just about ruined the company with his daily bon vivant business lunches which lasted into the evening hours. He eventually put a bullet into his head. If anybody knows who I'm talking about please reply.
