No escape

It's a hard road that leads to nowhere and aspirational outcomes notwithstanding this is it. I now know I'll never make parole. Dying in prison wasn't the way I thought the story would end but comes a time when all you can do is read 'em and weep. This shitshow sure blows

... is my favourite conspiracy theories is that we're actually in a prison camp and that if you go ride your bike out through the Seymour Valley to the fences at the Watershed or what they claim is the Watershed that's actually the fence for the prison camp were all in.

No internet in prisons, no cell phones either as both are illegal.
My guess is a metaphor for something else, perhaps marriage.

Wow, that definitely violates the Charter. No internet? How are you supposed to read case law? There's no way they put it all in the prison library.

Plus ancient legal mtaerials, comparative law from other countries, etc. etc.

This sounds like our prisons are totally illegitimate and operating under color of law.

Did you trade some snacks for some internet access ?
Must be a minimum security marriage you find yourself in.
Shame.

I'm perfectly fine with OP having no internet, if indeed OP is in prison for life-which I doubt. Think of the heinous things that OP had to do to get there...

Our society need get with the Scandinavian prison system

Its called restorative justice rather than retributive. In Sweden the prisons are move like modest hotels where prisoners have their own room and proper counselling, medical care, education and trades training is provided to all. They have a very small recidivist rate; that's very few prisoners reoffend. It makes much more common sense and dollars and cents to society verses the enormous cost of the police, justice and prison expenses of perpetuating our medieval shitstem; as well as, the enormous societal angst that increasing criminality inflicts on perps and victims.

If you're in prison for the rest of your natural life here in Canada then the court has deemed you to be a "Dangerous Offender" such as a serial killer or serial rapist where the chances of you reoffending is an extremely high certainty.

It does sound good but unfortunately Canada has become far too similar to our closest neighbours for it to work here. North America is set to implode from within thanks to the overwhelming ignorance of so many people. The dumbing down began long ago and the brain-rot has definitely crossed the border and is settling in here too.
