Work

I got a new job. And I’ve learned that while the job is ok, I don’t like my boss. Disorganized, rambling, uninspiring new boss. I’m too old to be led by someone like that. Maybe if I were younger, I’d put up with it. But I need a powerhouse to work for, not one that has daily excuses.

So what?

Sorry but you don’t get to pick your boss. I’m my long and varied careers I got to experience many of them, and I can truthfully say that there wasn’t one of them that I thought was in any way inspiring. I was also a boss a few times and I’m sure the people I managed thought the same about me, regardless of how my I tried. So just do your job the best that you can, and perhaps you can try being the inspiring one.

Seeing as you are ungrateful for this job, why don't you contact the previous poster- who sounds like she would absolutely love to have one- and make sure she gets yours?

Clearly I can see that you too were an uninspiring boss when you had the opportunity to lead.

It's called

The Peter Pan Principle. The most famous work by Dr. Laurence Peter, “The Peter Principle.” It states that in any hierarchy “every employee tends to rise to his level of incompetence”.
Whoever promoted the incompetent person does not take away the position from them because it shows the promoter to be unable to make good decisions themselves thus a never ending chain of people promoted to positions of incompetence. Prob a good reason why the world is in the state it's in.
