The world is moving away from mass produced crud

I see it everywhere and it's phenomenal. We can finally enjoy unique and awesome experiences that weren't around during the early 90s because everything was accessed through giant corporations like McDonalds and KFC. But now lots of little fried chicken franchises are springing up. There are craft breweries on every block in my neighbourhood. Everyone in Vancouver is bringing such good food experiences to the table... I can actually enjoy my neighbourhood!

We are running out of resources to mass produce.
Less is more mentality will be the norm quite soon as there are to many people on the planet.
Enjoy yourself while you can because great change is upon us.
Happy New Year !

Yeah, you can enjoy it, if you can afford it and with your little chicken franchises and craft breweries on every block, comes gentrification and the eviction of people who lived there for decades but hey,as long as you can get your chicken sandwiches and craft beer, who cares right???

People enjoyed their neighbourhoods just fine until people such as yourself with your insatiable lust for chicken sandwiches and craft beer started destroying neighbourhoods with your blandness. You sound like a self entitled bore.

Sorry dude. I actually don't know why I made a snarky remark. Like what you like. I'm just bored and lonely. I should go for a walk. Shout out to any other lonely vancouverites. I'll say a prayer for us all

Not exactly

In my neighbourhood the stores aren’t big but the majority of them are chain outlets owned in the US. The small independent retailers got pushed out by exorbitant rents, and unfair competition. Sure, there’s a few “craft” businesses struggling along, but for the most part they’ve had to leave. Just another victim of “progress”.

I suspect you're immersed in a culture of people trying to lead ethical lives, but the truth of the matter is, that once you get out of central Vancouver, very little has changed in the last 10 to 20 years. People still go to Walmart, Starbucks etc... en masse. Sorry about that.

Confirmation Bias

Is prevalent and hard to avoid/detect.
The truth is that the fast food sector in Canada grows about 2-3% a year- every year.

Yes the incremental little or medium steps are positive

But, what about the creepy shadow under-control? Dr. Gabor Mate refers to 'The Realm of Hungry Ghosts.' Its greatest power is camouflage. I don't got the video to prove it, and I ain't go great guru, but in my little bits of interaction with those invisible and semi-visible bozos when they've tried to hit on me; I've been shown that the power of the Universe in us is greater than their pathetic default and we have the ability to shine a light on them with discerning questions ...
