Fake

I can't stand it when people make videos online and when something funny happens with a friend, pet, etc. they laugh while making eye contact into the camera rather than laughing with the person/in the moment. It makes it seem so freakin fake and impersonal. Like can't we just enjoy one simple thing like laughter in the moment rather than doing everything for the camera? It actually drives me nuts

These days It didn't happen it less it was caught on camera and then there's the chance it could go viral, then you would have braggin' rights and upvotes to impress your friends, I guess? It's a new age of narcissism. It's ridiculous, but it's not going to change because I want it to. I recommend deleting all social media.

Everyone is a talk show host now. Everyone is a presenter. After tell years of scrolling, I’m pretty much done social media. Tired and bored of it is an understatement.

But being a talk show host (or talented comedienne) seems like a great job.

When I’m bored sometimes I watch these “reels” and I’m amazed at the crap people are posting. Most of it is just ridiculous. Like families posting stupid videos of them trying to dance, or their kid doing something like performing in a school play. Only interesting to the parents unless what that kid is doing is exceptional. The ones that really bug me are the ones supposedly about some glorious shot of nature when in reality it’s just some young woman, often in a thong bathing suit, posing. The narcissism of today’s society is nauseating.

There's so much "fakeness" online, imitations, knock-offs, no originality, people desperate to be seen and be absorbed or do the absorbing. It all makes me think of old ransom notes, where they'd cut letters from different sources and paste together a whole message, no authenticity, just a hollow voice, bits and pieces from here and there. It's like we're all being ransomed for our souls.
