Family stuff

My Dad is in the early stages of prostate cancer. It's affecting me so much that I can't even eat, sleep or think. We're really close and I don't want anything to happen to him. He reassures me that it's treatable so all I can do is hope. If something happens to him, then the thought of dealing with relatives on his side of the family frightens me. My Dad has told me many many stories of how his brothers and sisters caused him nothing but trouble and heartache throughout his life. Passive aggression runs in his family because these people are ignorant, hypocritical and don't know how to communicate. I have so many cousins that I don't even talk to. I don't consider any of them family. I guess family doesn't necessarily mean the people whom you were born with. Couldn't care less about any of them. I just want my Dad to pull through and stay healthy.

You just laid out a convincing case as to why your father has cancer.

Prostate cancer today doesn't necessarily mean a death sentence and I've known men to live for many years with it under the watchful eye of their doctor(s). There is hope here. But in reaction to your comment of other family being a pain in the ass while your dad is sick or passes, it is a good idea now to get an enduring power of attorney written and a will. Power of attorney is while they are alive and can be for only just when the person loses their competence and/or while they are in full capacity. It can also be for the estate and/or their person which has consequences if there are healthcare decisions to be made. Consult a lawyer however. The money spent now is nothing in comparison to a fight after he passes for the estate regardless of value. People get freaky weird and greedy if they think there's any hope of money for themselves and will give you a never ending amount of grief while you should be able to mourn in peace. I've seen people I thought were loving and giving turn into unbelievable monstrous assholes because they're in it for themselves everyone else be damned. See a lawyer and get this stuff straightened out or sooner rather than later. Trust me. Hope your dad is all right and lives for a very long time. Good luck and sending love.

In a situation like this; two things:

May 7, 2022 at 2:14pm

1) my heart is with you 2) you down-voters are pathetically down-voting your own well being. Get a life and if you don't want to, then that's your free will choice, BUT get your stink out of other people's lives

Not to worry…

Like others have said, it’s one of the most treatable types of cancer if it’s found fairly early. My father also had it and he died from other causes after 20 years living with it.

CBD oil works for a lot of issues, do some research. Rick Simpson developed this but has no affiliation with the products out there according to his website. Helps you sleep and calms nerves with the right dosage which depends on the individual.
