Two Cents

I can’t taste a thing. It’s wild. Can’t smell either. It’s like chewing goji berries and eating sour cream but different. I know this is merely a covid novelty - but do the senses come back? Online I read maybe 4-6 weeks. I suppose it’s a great time to go on a diet. Perhaps this is a sneak peak to what my taste buds will be like in my senior years. Coffee has no flavour but the warmth and the mouth feel of it are still satisfying. I hear people recover with souvenirs from covid. Extreme aversions to meat, strong scents, caffeine… It’s almost like being bitten by a radioactive mosquito where a strange super power you never even knew you had is taken away from you. I’m curious and afraid what I will recover with. I hope I don’t lose coffee.

It comes back

For me it took about 6-7 weeks but it did finally come back completely. Just an annoying side effect. The fatigue was the worst thing for me.

3 day wonder

I lost my taste the week after I recovered from the fevers etc. My taste mostly came back within a few days, and fully within a couple weeks.

Enjoy the three months of being super low reinfection risk!

I have a friend who lost her enormous taste for chocolate after an operation. That put the fear of God in me! It took a year or two to come back.

Ex Covid Haver

I got covid 15 months ago, and lost my sense of taste and smell for about 3 months. It came back very gradually after that, and certain tastes and smells were much stronger than others. Certain tastes and smells that I used to love became unbearable, and some still are. My taste and smell are not as strong as they used to be, and very recently, the smell of raw garlic suddenly became awful.
At this point, I'm losing hope that it will ever go back to normal. Super annoying.

I love when people say Two Cents. Because here in smug sorry sayer land your two cents are rounded down. It’s worthless.
