What the hell

I work in healthcare on the DTE and the pandemic was stressful. We all wore our masks and we had a few outbreaks here and there. Six of my coworkers have it and they are really sick, not just an Omicron cold. One is in the hospital. The clients are sick and my manager is off because his whole family has it. And many of the staff refuse to wear masks because they say it’s over, but everyone is getting sick. It’s worse than during the pandemic. So strange.

I can't figure out whats really going on here and other places and how the gov't rules keep changing. I'm no fan of politricks but nor can I figure out the trucker protest o.c.d. conspiracy mindset either ... Oh well! Keep on keepin on Planet Earthians and stay positive.

You're getting downvotes from those sociopathic anti-masker types, who think your friends should die, so we can all live in freedumb.

You're absolutely correct!

It's not over. AND on top of it everybody without masks is spreading colds and the flu. SMARTEN UP EVERYBODY!

It’s the new normal

Sorry to break it to you but this is our life now. Unfortunately, unless you plan on never leaving your house again, the chances are good that you’re going to catch it. If you’re in reasonably good health you’ll be okay but will feel like crap for a few weeks. Wearing masks will help but it’s no guarantee that you won’t still get it because there are too many variants and they’re extremely transmissible. The choice is, as I see it, you either completely isolate yourself by never leaving the house, or you just carry on living your life knowing that you’re likely going to get sick at some point. Speaking from my own perspective as a senior who has been triple vaccinated but still got it, was pretty sick, and I’m doing just fine now.

I know it's crazy

But we've tried everything. We washed our hands and kept two meters apart. We stopped touching our faces. We lined up to buy groceries and wore masks everywhere. We even tried three vaccinations and yet nothing has worked so far. The virus keeps defeating all our efforts. Now our authorities just want us to live with it. Get ready for the seventh wave. It's inevitable.

Our immune system has been on a 2 year holiday and is just getting back to work,it's gonna take time to get back up to speed and strong enough to battle again

Thank you

For your work in the DTES. Aside from how hard sad and scary Covid is making everything, your job isn’t easy and you make a big difference. Your courage and heart mean a lot, OP, sending hugs.

Feel the same

Everyone has to make our own decisions about our health and what’s best. So far I’m still avoiding a lot of things. When I go out and unmask I get sick, my immune system is not ready and I’m worried about long term effects. I realize the inevitability and that maybe ongoing variants will increase in potency. Navigating as best I can with my pre existing medical conditions. And judgment from others and the isolation. No advice just agree it’s a strange time
