Some of us aren’t built for the sun. My ground floor space is lovely and cool so there’s no need for AC.

I moved to Vancouver for the weather. And This ain’t it. It’s beautiful, you get a great view of the mountains, and I’m happy for sun loving folks to get a break from the rain. But I look forward to the city’s regular programming. I have a strange relationship with melanin in that I’m missing a large portion of that eumelanin goodness. But apparently my body makes up for it by needing less sun to make vitamin D - at least that’s what’s believed at this point. Unfortunately my eyes and skin are not built to handle the sun well and my genetic makeup may doom me to cancer eventually. I like to think about how Arizona copes during the summer. It reminds me how Canadians cope with winter in a way.

Take comfort in knowing summer is BC's shortest season, and it'll be miserable again for nine months of the year before you know it.

I HATE summer.

It's killer hot. I can't take it anymore !
