I feel like I was bred to be a low level worker and conditioned to enjoy this way of life best. What is the alternative? I suppose living out my days on an isolated island or hanging from a bell tower.

Welcome to A Brave New World. I suppose it depends on how you decide to perceive and live in it. Try the Soma, drop the Shakespeare, and give out toys in the terminal ward.

You're going to let your life be limited by Huxley's imagination? Not a great idea.

What really does low level or high level class status imply on this speck of dust planet compared to the enormity of unfathomable universal existence? Sure we've got aspiring 'big shots' wannabes and bully boys on this Planet of the Apes, but sorry for their delusional aspirations because they are really microscopic no-bodies. And to the humble of this world, have a good laugh, a nice day, and make a good life for yourselves :-)

'Trained' at home to be always deferential since early childhood. Even being a rebel won't help you socially if you have limited social skills. I feel like I've been on the back foot all my life. I enjoy the outdoors and the meals I make myself but I don't enjoy people so generally I have nothing to do with them.

The alternative sounds great, what are you waiting for?

There is pleasure in the pathless woods
There is rapture on the lonely shore
There is society, where none intrudes
By the deep sea and music in its roar
I love not man the less
But nature more - Lord Byron

This is the sort of propaganda that these low level workers are fed a sort of pan-theistic "cosmic" narrative of insignificance. meanwhile, go look at the very nice condos being built by Cypress Ski Hill that none of the workers who build them will ever be able to afford! Or people on disability assistance, which is a program from an era when we didnt have tons of studio/1 bedroom condos. Why doesnt the Government by disabled people a 1 bedroom Condo? Or even have it bought, title in BC Housing, w/ BC Housing doing maintenance? All sorts of things to think about rather than just going "lol, im nothing compared to the GALAXY!"

The issue isnt so much what you are compared to the Galaxy, its more like what you are compared to someone with money. Money money, money money money.

Whose imaginations do you recommend? I wonder about Peter Singer in contrast.

It was me who made the micro/macro comparison to the inter-Galactics but no problemo; I'm agreeing with you that we got to fight the good fight and help the less fortunate. BUT may I point out that in the song 'Money money, money money money' the last 'money' is emphasized so can we please have it capitalized or even and exclusion mark eh ... Money!
