On rainy days like this I love opening the windows and blinds to watch and listen to the rain. The awed hush it brings to the environment, the muted and potentially electric light in the sky, the smell. It’s the greatest feeling in the world for me. Somehow I become more awake, alert, keen. I breathe deeply and my body relaxes.

Disregard those MAGA guys who resent learning new words.

Petrichor. That’s the smell of earth following a rain. It’s a smell I’ve loved since I was a little kid. I’m not the Op by the way, and you don’t have to be fancy to have a good vocabulary.

These rainy days are so beautiful and make me happy. I attribute it to growing up here and never admit it to others who hate the rain (what are they doing here I wonder?) , and luxuriate in the lush, comforting energy-rainy days ftw

I love the rain too, especially if it's not coming in sideways at 2 degrees and I'm stuck dealing with it because I'm outside and the time is now.
Here comes the rain again….

You must love Vancouver, since it doesn't stop f*king raining? I find myself watching the international weather on the news channels, dreaming of all the beautiful, interesting, exotic and DRY places I could be visiting.

Yes it does stop.
Have you forgotten the mini-droughts we get in July and August the last 6+ years?
