It's understandable to be triggered, and to feel anxious about being away from your Mom (particularly if she's immunocompromised or a senior) and to feel safer when you're around her. Be kind to yourself, accept it for what it is (if it's a fear that something will happen to her, I don't see that as 'separation anxiety'), and embrace it, because at the end of the day, it's love.
