Chasing Peaks

True love didn't work out so now I hike. It's been I-don't-know 12-13 years or so of this, but I don't know if it's satisfying.

When your ex told you to take a hike I don't think they meant literally!... I'm sorry, I had to. In all seriousness though, I think true love comes when it's ready. It can take years an years.. it could be tomorrow. You never know. I have had to learn to love myself first. I'm still learning honestly but I've come to a place where I'm content just being alone and if someday it happens it happens. Wishing you the best and apologies for my stupid joke. Take care

will benefit from reviving the 'matchmaker' institution of our great grandparents previous generations. I'm not referring to the fraud storefront & psychic hotline type; I'm referring to the wise older ones who have the gift of placing the right people together.

No thank you! Let’s promote consent, evolve out of patriarchal traditions, and allow people to make their own informed decisions about partnership.

@Let's ... evolve out of patriarchal traditions

Agreed, BUT the genuine match-making institution of our previous generations was matriarchal. And, while the 'consent' between those being match-made is part of the equation, modern science now verifies that people mature at different rates and unfortunately quite often those chosing mates haven't yet fully grown critical brain lobes. Thus I'll lean in the direction of restoring genuine match-making.

Is matchmaking really a matriarchal practice? Or were women simply assigned to perform the act of matchmaking?

Who was the ultimate beneficiary of this practice? Who was the architect?

Which culture(s) are you referring to?

I am a woman who has chosen well and poorly in matters of love, both before and after my prefrontal cortex was fully developed at age 25.

Though some of my experiences were painful, they helped me to learn, grow, and walk this path of life with more purpose.

Seeing as this is a time when women's and children's rights are eroding, I must respectfully disagree that a return to matchmaking, or any practice that strips people of their agency to choose the direction of their life, would be a step in the right direction.

I had a dream about Leonardo D.C. last night. We were just hanging out and that was cool. It put me in a good mood. Thank you

I'm curious to what end you achieve this and what makes you think you have the final say/your way works best, as you seem to be speaking for everyone in most of your omni-present orator comments.
