Don’t squander it

Some things are only learned from experience, and some people never learn them at all. If you’re trying to make friends when you’re older, those first few weeks are important. People will be assessing each other to see if they’re a good fit. Similar to a romantic relationship but without all the drama involved with that. So how you treat someone in those first weeks makes all the difference as to whether or not the friendship will continue. You’ll find that it gets harder and harder to make new friends when you get older, so don’t squander the opportunities that come your way, because they won’t keep coming and you’ll find yourself old and lonely. Value the people who are willing to value you.

If you don't appreciate good people that actually have your best interests, then they certainly won't be around anymore.

You are right about it being more difficult to make friends when you get older. Your advice is good and appreciated. Thank you

I like what you said. But I want to add not just the first few weeks. More like the first few years!

Indeed. Don't be late in realizing what and who matters the most in your life. True friends stick around through thick and thin.

Hogwash

What a load of hogwash.
The world has changed and people have changed.
I think social media has made it too easy for people to hide away from life and has changed their brains. So simple to hide behind a fake profile and lead others down your garden path without really putting yourself out there with face to face interaction anymore. It's becoming too scary to be your real self in the outside world and people are going numb and becoming intraverts walking around like zombies. If you can't be who you want to be in real life you can make it up online and live in that fantasy.
It's a sad state of affairs the world now.
