Thanksgiving

I'm on my own this year and am surprised at the amount of people ("friends?") who do not reach out to include me at their table. Isn't that the spirit of this holiday? I would bring food and help clean up if that were the issue, but it'd be nice to know people generous enough to include others during the holidays...

You’re not alone. I live within a few blocks of one of my siblings and they have never invited me to join them for anything. In spite of me hosting them multiple times in the past. So I live alone and it’s very hard to get to see the rest of my family because they live too far and I can’t drive. Some people just don’t even think about anyone but their own little circle.

You either don't have enough vices or too many. Be your own host next time, friends aren't for Thanksgiving, family is. Volunteer at a Salvation Army Turkey dinner. :)
