Cringing

I feel embarrassed for them, but I don’t know them well enough to tell them that they’re making a total ass of themselves. Some types of behaviour can be tolerated when a person is in their 20’s, but when they’re still doing it when they’re over 50 it’s cringeworthy. And what’s even worse is when they include you in it without your permission, by saying “we”. Leave me out of it please! I have no desire to make myself look like an aging fool, thank you very much.

There were people in the Bible that lived to be near a thousand years old. You're still a child so maybe you should start acting like it. Learn to have a little bit of fun.

They say age is just a state of mind.
So how old do you feel today ?
But I agree I don't need someone talking for me.
I get myself in enough trouble all by my little self
Don't even really need to try it just seems to happen :)
Ain't life funny just like your confession.
Maybe you shouldn't hang out with this person.

I’m the Op. it’s hilarious how many people think they know what I’m talking about or who I am. Maybe I was too vague, but there’s good reason for that. I’m in a situation with this person because of business and nothing else, so I’ve got to just grin and bear it for now. But some of their behaviour is truly awful and I’m embarrassed for them. I just don’t like it when someone says “we” when they’re behaving badly, because I don’t want anyone assuming that I feel the same way they do. Certain behaviour can be excused because someone is too young to know better, but by our age it’s just embarrassing.

How about you just get back on your meds and go away?

You can do it! Yes, even you!

hmmmm...bigotry...

People like you are so judgmental.
Remember, we all get old with time, and how sad it will be when, while you're enjoying life, someone will purposely piss on your parade by proclaiming "you're too old".
Funny how many of us, despite decades of enlightenment on humanity, still embrace racism, sexism, classism, pious hypocrisy and, of course, ageism. Because you're so much better than others.

Sigh

Let me say this again…this has zero to do with being judgmental or racist or anything even remotely like that. So whoever you are thinking that you know me, you don’t. The person I’m referring to is in fact the bigoted one, which is one of the reasons I do not want to be lumped in with them. And btw, I’m 71 years old so I’m certainly old enough to understand how people should behave in a business situation!
