Don’t lie to yourself

It took me many, many years to accept this, but I finally did. No matter how much you want someone to feel about you the way you feel about them, if they’re not showing you in all of the important ways that they do, then you’re wasting your time. The people who specialize in being elusive and vague about your relationship status and their true intentions aren’t in it for love. They’re in it for themselves only, and you’re just a place for them to rest a while, before they move on. If they leave you confused and in doubt, they know it and it’s deliberate. They’re selfish and they do not have your best interests at heart. So as painful and difficult as it is to accept this reality, if you don’t then you’re in for nothing but misery. You’ll wind up older but no further ahead, and with fewer prospects than you had when you were younger.

Good advice but why would you have fewer prospects when you get older ?
Things only get better with age !
Ginger get spicer with age.
Fine wine is better with age.
With age comes Wisdom.
You get the point !
Everything :)

True... and yet...

Even when we know this, sometimes we have to live it to get it, but your words are those I wish I had heard almost a decade ago.

However I have been reading the bible for at least 3-4 yrs now and a piece that was hard to let go was saving a friend from darkness is most admirable and the fact I was in love through no fault of my own it just happened all of a sudden. Then all of a sudden it got darker too I merely was advised to tell my true feelings without exception I can honestly say I did just that or tried but they see love one way I guess. I did not have to have her just wanted to say someone loves you and if you do not feel that I still do as I was struck with it and did not seek it!

It’s reality, unless of course you’re a wealthy person who doesn’t mind being used for your money. It’s lovely to think that nothing changes when you get older, but those of us who’ve been there know the truth. We humans are largely an opportunistic bunch who are commonly attracted by one’s physical appearance. If you happen to be a woman, well unfortunately nothing much has changed and if you age normally (without a bunch of expensive procedures for example), then you’re going to be competing with women half your age. It’s not fair but that’s the way it really is, like it or not. I’ve met guys who claim to “love” older women, but they also tend to be guys who really like having a woman take care of everything, including all the bills, as if they’re in a permanent childhood. I’m sure there are some rare ones who are genuinely attracted and interested in older women, but let’s face it, they’re not the norm. If they were, then women wouldn’t be so pressured to prevent the appearance of aging at all costs.

Why be honest at the risk you can't handle rejection, do a 180 and become his/her worst enemy. Better to be flattered, kind and you'll figure it out eventually

My friends beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.
Luckily everyone see things differently and
wouldn't it be a boring world if we all looked exactly the same.
Besides it's what's inside that counts in the end as beauty can fade.

I guess we all can't age well.

I dated a guy who apparently said that "the best way to deal with women is to keep them guessing". He was 19 when he said that so obviously he had a huge wealth of life experience to back up this pearl of wisdom.
