I don't get it

I don't get why some people are forced back to the office so they can have real face time with coworkers and then meetings are conducted at their desks via Zoom annoying everyone around them. How ridiculous is that??!!

Wonderful, isn't it, or how about clogging up the streets by commuting to work by car, making noise and polluting the air with car exhaust and tire dust? Jalopnik, the website dedicated to "car culture", recently posted an article called: Tire dust is the DDT of our generation. A car site posted that, that should say something.

Work from home if you can, if you commute take the train or ride a bike.

True story

I was looking for work right when the pandemic hit, and was therefore unemployed for two years because no one was hiring in my industry. So I finally got a job and I can’t understand why some businesses are still insisting that their employees be in the office most of the time. Working from home is so much easier! I’m relaxed on those days. I’m not wasting time “getting ready for work”, or getting to and from. The only thing that the office has that my home doesn’t is better machines when I want to print something. Otherwise I can do my job just as well from home. Employers that are smart would be the ones who recognize that times have changed, and they would be looking for co-working spaces instead of paying high leases for an office they don’t really need.

There are only 2 reasons for being forced back into the office:

1. Off-site productivity exposes the uselessness of middle management who only exist to micromanage workers like children.

2. The commercial real estate industry and its adjacent beneficiaries are more important than the longterm health of the workforce.

Everything else is bullshit.

That’s gotta be it, really. Useless middle managers feeling the need to justify their useless middle-management existence and micro-manage IRL.
