The sixties failure

I think Timothy Leary destroyed so many people by touting LSD back in the 1960s. It’s a dangerous drug that’s devastating to mental health. It’s a shame how many hippies were gullible to buy into his nonsense and died from overdosing. He was an idiot.

I took LSD as a teenager in the 1960s and 70s and no one ever died from it.
You are an idiot.
Well, I'll start with this

You can have massive freakout on acid but that is usually due to the mental issues and insecurities in the user. You, of course, can freak out by taking too much.
But.
Deaths by overdose of LSD are 0%.
Before you post, you should read about the subject you're posting about. Not knowing what you're talking about is called ignorance and it is caused by stupidity.
Congratulations.
Not really

Therapeutic acid is helpful and should be treated just like any other drug - carefully.

overdoses to the point of actual death are pretty much unheard of. As a reply above mentioned, it can cause extreme unpleasant freak-out mental and possibly behavioral states in some people, but as far as I'm aware even the most massive doses haven't actually ended up chemically killing anyone.
Psychedelics / entheogens ... can obviously be of great help (or just fun/pleasure) to some people, in some cases even positively transforming their lives in radical ways over the long term, but there are people who simply respond very badly to many of them, including the possibility of for example having (what gets called) 'psychosis' triggered, potentially leading to nightmarish stints with forced psychiatric drugging in response, so I think it's very important to test the waters gently and cautiously if one is new to it all, too.
In my case, no matter what substance it is (cannabis, MDMA, LSD, psilocybin, etc), I basically only have 'bad trips' resulting in some relatively or very unpleasant (though sometimes also interesting) altered states of consciousness and physiology/sensation, so I've learned to just avoid any kind of psychoactive substances period. I don't doubt that a lot of people get a lot of positive out of psychedelics, though :)

Sorry to be this person, but I think you mistyped "alcohol."
Wow seriously, are you that out of touch?

3 million deaths every year result from harmful use of alcohol, and approximately 1.3 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes, according to the WHO. LSD is the least of our problems.

And was also a lot of fun.
You should speak about things you know about.
