I wonder if it works sometimes

When I compost, I like to ensure I put everything I can in there. I wonder what would happen if I shit in the compost. Theoretically, nothing. It should just biodegrade and compost like everything else. The earth worms would love it. Is it allowed?

compost

The composition and microbiome + virome of human stool is still pretty different from the majority of the stuff that usually gets put in the compost, as far as I'm aware (in modern interpretations, and in some real life cases, more towards the spectrum of 'biohazard' maybe?). If you're just doing it in your own personal compost on the land you live on, or say in the middle of a forest, that should be totally fine - it will just become one with the Earth again. If it's getting picked up by the city trucks to be turned into manure/fertilizer/soil at some facility though, probably best not to put actual human poop in it.

I saw a guy on YouTube that collected a bunch of his crap in a barrel, after couple of weeks sitting in there he had methane gas he could use for cooking, heating water, torch, generator etc.

Sewage treatment plant

Where all the waste water ends from drains & toilets. They make an amazing fertilizer for plants. However they warn against using it to grow vegetables because of metal contaminants which are in the mix

is a biohazard. ours as well as our pets. you might possibly be able to compost on your own but certainly not add to green waste bins. you should check with your local health dept. and municipal bylaws. my guess is it is not allowed.

Obsessed

I mean you, Op. This is a pretty odd thing to be obsessing about, given that you’ve made two posts about weird things to put in the compost. Maybe you need to get out more.

Note the point that says: Not accepted Pet waste and pet waste bags. Do you think humman waste gets a pass?

Animal carcasses
Not accepted Cat litter
Not accepted Diapers and hygiene products
Not accepted Dirt, rocks, soil, or sod
Not accepted Large branches or prunings (greater than 10cm thick and 50cm long). Large branches must be taken to the Vancouver South Transfer Station. Fees will apply.
Not accepted Large volumes of cooking oil
Not accepted Liquids of any kind
Not accepted Tissue
Not accepted Painted, stained, or treated wood
Not accepted Pet waste and pet waste bags
Not accepted Plastic bags of any kind, including plastic bags labelled as compostable or biodegradable
Not accepted Plastic cutlery, containers or packaging, including items labelled as compostable or biodegradable
