Arachnophobic about city art

I hope the city takes down that big awful spider by the skytrain. It's not that I don't like spiders. I just don't like 99/100 city art installations. What a waste of money. This spider probably cost a billion dollars.

It was guerilla art, the city didn't pay for it, and you can only see it if you look for it. I suspect you haven't seen 99/100 city art installations, but watch a lot of TV.

The installation was made by the artist and not installed by the city. The artist is innovative with his materials and the placement of the spider is sheer genius. Leave it alone. It's not hurting anybody and has added to the conversation and landscape especially if you are caught unawares by it. Kudos to the artist!

Did you know there is a purpose for all of gods creatures on this planet ? Spiders catch insects like mosquitoes that cause West Nile and bees pollinatie the fruits and vegetables and flowers. Too bad we are killing them all with pesticides. Apparently now the lack of fish in the oceans and lakes is even affecting the Eagles they now live off of road kill and farming carcasses. If you mess with the natural balances of mother nature there are repercussions.
Eventual death of all mankind perhaps !

No Fun Vancouver is removing the art, sadly. We shouldn't be surprised.

It’s hurting no one?!?
How about the thousands of arachnophobic’s who have serious panic attacks from it?

The spider and the yellow road barriers have taken over the public consciousness.
I miss the escaped otter.

A dozen years ago in the jungles of Mexico in the Yucatan area. 4 of us spotted a spider that was easily to 3 feet in diameter. We were about 20 feet away. It walked into some bushes. We slowly backed away. I have nightmeres to this day. Avid outdoorsman not scared of much but this haunts me when I am in the wild.

I have a fear of spiders, too but it doesn't change the fact the spider art is whimsical and has generated more attention and convo than the awful news these days. Oh yeah, and maybe the railroad and or the city can clean up the damned garbage that has been there ever since I can remember. One art work vs trash. You pick one.
