That is a wildly pathetic stance. A world without art would be without flavour. Better some people pay for it than having no art for the public.

Neo liberalism is having or showing belief in the need for economic growth, it's pretty conservative, look up Milton Friedman, he was one of the godfathers of that branch of economics. So called "Hipster's" are liberal. At the very least follow, Keynesian economics, or socialist, or even anarchist.

Only a conservative would want the arts to die. The type of person that sees no beauty in live, other than the strippers they frequent.

Unfortunately this attitude has been prevalent here for as long as I’ve been here almost 70 years. The west puts so little priority on the arts and the lack of culture here is evidence of that. It’s so hard to survive as an artist here that of course they need to charge a lot for their work! Do you have any idea how many talented people aren’t creating here because they can’t afford to? It’s shameful how badly treated artists are in Canada as a whole, but especially here in BC.
