Cynicism

I don't want to be cynical, it's usually a form of self protection for myself. In the last 5-6 months many, many, many... more than the fingers I have on both hands, couples I know have had their first child. All of them between 30-45 years old. They are ALL beautiful couples. They ALL seem good together. Statistically, and what I know from life, is half will the relationships won't last. Heck, the baby will actually intrinsically be the reason. I look at them all and can't figure out who fades and who lasts. In a perfect world they all thrive... but it's not a perfect world.

I have this rough rule of thumb. The more a couple spends on their "perfect" wedding the more likely the marriage will fail. Not sure if anyone else finds this to be true.

Hopefully not

I’m also trying not to be cynical but it’s not easy. I’ve never understood why people go so crazy about a wedding but that’s just me. If that’s what they think they should do then it’s none of my business. I’m just hoping for the best for them and wishing them lots of happiness and success. I keep my own worries about the future possibilities to myself.

Why do people need a piece of paper and an expensive party to prove their Love and Commitment ?
There lies the problem maybe it's more about the spectacle and attention then the actual love they seek.
True Love needs no paperwork to prove it.
