I know I’ve reached a life milestone

I used to love fashion, getting dressed up, colours, textures, thrifting for unique finds, etc. accessorizing, peacocking, being stylish.
Now I look forward to wearing my black Walmart hoodie.
Lost the desire to open my wallet, to shop, spend hours doing all the above, to impress and influence the outside world.
This is the post-consumerist me.

Me thinks if you were "post-consumerist" you wouldn't name drop where you bought it.
So much worse

the t-shirt selection at the Salvation Army is now totally useless. I used to find t-shirts from all around the globe but now it's all corporate event t-shirts. Nobody else wants to wear them either, it's the same ugly mass every time I drop by.
Thanks!

I'm totally going to Walmart now for a new hoodie! Was just wondering where I could get a good one and then I saw your post. Yay!

Speaking of the thrift stores what's with the ridiculous prices of most of them. It's used clothes and the prices almost reflect the prices in regular stores now.
Once again it's used clothes some are not even gently used but they are still pricey !
I still know of a few that have cool stuff at reasonable prices. And you won't be seeing that at Walmart. Hate Walmart:( Oh can I use the word hate it is an emotion. I really dislike Walmarts cheaply made goods by children garbage.
Is that better ?
Me too

I’ve never been someone who bought or loved anything name brand, but I used to love getting dressed up. Now I don’t care at all. I just want comfort and I’ll wear the same thing over and over again until it wears out. I’m done trying to impress anyone and I’m done spending money that I need just for survival on useless things like clothes that I really don’t need.

It's hard to remain a fashion victim into your adulthood, isn't it? I personally don't like the consumerist society that dominates the west nowadays. It's bad for the environment, it leads people on paths in their life that isn't healthy by breeding insecurities, but it won't stop them spending their incomes on things that won't be fashionable in a season or two even though they recognize it's unhealthy. It's such a waste of time, money, and the planet's resources.
